Cellar Door is an eclectic restaurant and bar offering food, beer, wine and cocktails. We use primarily locally-sourced, seasonally available produce, meats, cheeses and more, purchased direct from area farms and purveyors. We aim to highlight the abundance of quality food and ingredients available on the Olympic Peninsula, in an effort to support area businesses and keep the dollars spent in our restaurant in our community.
Our philosophy is to preserve the diversity of crop varietals inherent to our region, promote balanced health and well being, and connect our customers to the dirt beneath their feet. Our promise is to source local ingredients from farms on the Olympic Peninsula and hand craft as many of our sauces, condiments, sodas, syrups mixers, tonics and bitters as possible.
On the national scale, we've seen myriad problems arise with the systemic nature of our present food system. The intended homogenization and modification of our crops and livestock, perpetrated by numerous industrial agricultural companies, threatens the safety of nearly everything we consume - pushing our communities further from being locally supported and sustainable. Cellar Door intends to be exemplary in what will be an essential paradigm shift, paramount to our quality of life. Port Townsend as a whole sets an example for cities nationwide as a sustainable community that values farm-to-table food sourcing, and the slow food movement. We believe it is the responsibility of any new business, food service or otherwise, to set a responsible example of sustainability for
